Addiction Severity Index & Teen Addiction Severity Index
LADAC Credit: 6 hrs. - Assessment
The Addiction Severity Index (ASI) is a structured clinical interview designed to collect all the
information needed at intake to be able to develop an appropriate treatment plan for an individual
seeking substance abuse treatment. The index focuses on seven areas of life functioning:
Medical, EmploymenUSupport, Alcohol/Drugs, Legal, Family History, Family/Social Relationships
and Psychiatric. The Teen-Addiction Severity Index (T-ASI) is a similar instrument geared for use
with adolescents.
Facilitators for the workshop are Rod Bragg, MA, MDiv, Director of Addiction Treatment and
Recovery Services at the Tennessee Dept of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities who
has over 23 years experience in the substance abuse/mental health field and Cindy Sneed, NCC,
LPC-MHSP, who is the Chief Clinical Officer at The Next Door, a residential transitional living
program that provides recovery support services for women with an addiction to alcohol and
drugs.
Housing for May 13 is available at Scarritt-Bennett. Once a college campus, the Center's converted residence
halls have semi-private overnight accommodations. Newly renovated rooms in Gibson Hall are equipped
with televisions and high-speed internet access. Pay by way of the Alcohol & Drug Council. All room
reservations and fees must be paid bv April 24. All conference registrations with payment must be received
by May 4.
